Community Groups

Community Groups are the heart of Church of the Cross. We met every week to learn more about Jesus and then put His teachings into practice in community.

A Community Group is a family of learning, serving missionaries striving to live ordinary life together with Gospel intentionality.

God is on a mission to reconcile all things to Himself through the person and work of Jesus Christ. God’s primary way of accomplishing this mission is the Church. The Church is the family of God, called together to Himself and sent out on His mission. Community Groups are the primary way Church of the Cross mobilizes people together on mission, connecting people to caring community.

Community Groups are where we build community, facilitate mission and train disciples to understand and apply the Gospel to all of life. Community Groups actively engage their surrounding communities, their families, neighborhoods and workplaces. This engagement provides opportunities to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel while also providing the context to grow closer in community.

Each group centers on a mission to make a difference in our community because of what Jesus has already done. We meet weekly for fellowship, study and equipping and we actively strive for concrete ways to serve our community.
