Because He cares for His people, God leads His Church through elders and deacons.
Elders
Elders are men whose character is outlined in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1 and 1 Peter 5. These men, seeking the input of the congregation, are finally responsible for the spiritual oversight and governance of the church, protecting her from error and caring for her members.
Brent Thomas
Lead Pastor/Teaching Elder
Brent Thomas received his BA in Public Relations from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ and his MDiv. from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served as the Associate Pastor for Youth at Hill Grove Baptist Church in Guston, KY for two years prior to serving as the Teaching Pastor of Grace Community Church, Glen Rose, TX for three and a half years before God called Him to help begin the work of Church of the Cross. He has been married to Kristi for 14 years, they have four boys and live in Glendale, AZ with a heart to see the community transformed by and for the Gospel.
Wade Myers
Wade Myers has served in ministry both as an associate youth pastor and worship leader. He received his M.Ed in Counseling and serves the community in public education. He and his wife, Tanya, have three children and reside in Peoria, AZ. His desire is to see the power of the gospel transform the hearts of people within the Peoria community and beyond.
Deacons
Deacons assist in the practical ministries, both to church and community. It is our conviction that men and women may serve in this capacity and we hope to move God’s people into this vital ministry soon.
